Norms

College Rules and Regulation

By default i is applicable to each student .Students are advised to read it carefully .
I accept to Declare as...both academics and personal disciplines are to be developed during the stay at SVIET Campus. The following Code of Conduct is applicable to every Student. in order to develop the following declarations.

  1. I also understand that as a student , I will have to behave according to its norms at all times, both on and outside the campus. The Institute has the right to take correctional and disciplinary action if i misbehave with any outsider and if any act is in contravention of the norms of SVIET.
  2. I shall not pass judgements either in public or private conversation with out ascertaining facts from authentic sources.. I understand that i will have to be courteous and polite with staff, Colleagues, Guests , Faculty and other at all times, but not submissive
  3. I also understand that the examination system at SVIET is a strict one in any case of any malpractice I indulge in, I am risking my studentship for which there may not be any further warning, excuse nor any opportunity to explain.
  4. I understand that Smoking, Drinking and drugs are not allowed in the campus. Violation of these rules will be strictly up to the extent of dismissal from the Institution.
  5. I understand and accept that learning is my responsibility. My purpose of being in SVIET is to learn and develop myself into a professional engineer and a leader with a sense of responsibility towards society. I full subscribe to the concerns , purpose of, and the processes at the institute
  6. I know that there is a dress code which requires all boys and girls to dress decently and in a dignified manner befitting a future professional, which has to be adhered to .
  7. I understand that all the co- curricular activities including conferences, seminars, etc. are essential assignments aimed at learning by doing and experiencing. I understand that as per the evaluation system , I am liable to loose my studentship if I do not measure up to the standards prescribed.
  8. I understand that whatever the Institute instructs or does will be in the best interest if the students and I shall abide by all the decisions of the Director / Principal and faculty although I may disagree personally or dislike certain aspects. However I can exercise my right to clarify and being heard and to be counseled if I am wrong.
  9. I agree to all the changes in the curriculum, fee structure, procedures and processes which may have to be modified from time to time by the university / institution.
  10. I understand that the above rules and principles are meant to make my association with the Institute more effective, by functioning in orderly ways with a sense of purpose and commitment. Therefore I understand what is important is not mechanical compliance but imbibing of the values and work ethos of SVIET. Towards this I hereby promise that I shall at all times along with the Director, Principal, faculty, staff and colleagues strive to promote and maintain a climate of love, Mutual concern, Togetherness, Adaptation, Team Spirit, Interaction and learning through out my stay in SVIET. I shall be truthful to me, my purpose if being here , my parents and teachers at all times
  11. I will not misuse the mobile on campus / hostel . any violation related to mobile misuse on campus/ hostel will be dealt as per the rules of the institution.
  12. I agree to accept all rules of campus and hostel whenever amended from time to time.

Academic Rules

  1. Attendance Rules : Classes are must for a minimum of 90 days in each semester. Classes may be arranged on Saturdays or other holidays to make 90 days if it is not otherwise to meet the requirement. Each Candidate is required to attend minimum of 75% of the schedule Lectures / Tutorials / Practical to be eligible to appear in examination of a subject. If a candidate fails to meet the requirement, he/ she will be detained from appearing in the University exam of that subject. Principal can condone up to a maximum of 10% of the Lectures held in a subject. owing to serious illness ,calamity and Participation in any Game / Sports or any other Good and sufficient reason.
  2. Awards of Internal/ Sessional Marks : Internal / Sessional marks are awarded on the basis of continual evaluation of the students through Class Tests, Quizzes, Seminars, Home Assignments and Class Work. Three Class Tests are conduced during the Semester, Out of which best two are Considered for the purpose of awarding of Internal / Sessional Marks.
  3. College Uniform : All Students are required to follow the following uniform code on Monday & Friday while attending the College. Girls: Grey Trouser / Grey Jean with White Shirt or Grey Salwar, White Shirt with Grey Dupatta (with Permission of Principal). Boys: Grey Trouser / Grey Jean with White Shirt. On special occasions and functions the students will wear prescribed dress and whenever the Students go out to the other Colleges, Universities to Participate in any Co- curricular or Extra Curricular activity, or to attend any placement interview.. On other days, all the students are expected to be dress up decently.
  4. Students should be in procession of Identity Card while moving on the Campus. Defaulters will be fined as per the institutional rules
  5. Ragging of any student inside or outside the campus is strictly prohibited. Indulgence in Ragging will lead to strict disciplinary action upto the extent of expulsion from the Institution.
  6. No fee in full or part there of, except security will be refunded, if any student leaves the Institute before the Completion of the degree.
  7. Absence from the class will be taken as an act of indiscipline , a fine to the extent of Rs 50/- per day will also be levied.
  8. Students are required to apply for leave of absence to the HOD and get sanctioned on prescribed application (Format attached) before availing .

Library / Labs Rules

  1. Library Books are issued for a specific period. That must be returned on time. Students will be fined Rs 1/- per Day for late return of the library Books.
  2. During Workshop Practical / Training, knee length full sleeves grey apron and a white lab coat are mandatory during Chemistry lab.
  3. Students must read the notices regularly. any notice displayed on the College Notice Board will amount to serving of the notice to the student concerned. Not having read the notice cannot be taken as an excuse.
  4. Students must observe silence in the library, Computer Labs, corridors and Offices.
  5. Students must observe the time specified for them for Office, Library, Mess etc.
  6. If as a result of Demonstration / strike / mischiefs; any property / equipment in the Campus is damaged and loss is caused to the Institute, the same would be recovered either directly from those identified person(s), where ever possible, or else collectively from such group who were responsible for this.
  7. Students / Class indulging in defacing of furniture equipment or building will be required to bear the cost for the restoration of the various items into the original conditions.
  8. While undergoing practical training (outside the campus),the students shall abide by the rules of the organization in which they are taking training and shall obey the orders and disciplinary control of such organization.
